During 2009 we made our first serious experimental batches of natural ice cream to try out on our customers.

It went down very well indeed, and we are advancing this project in 2010, where we have our ice cream available in large and small tubs at our two weekly farmers’ markets in Dublin.

The genesis for this venture stems from the fact that I absolutely love ice cream, but I get irritated at the amount of rubbish ice cream on the market, so I said ‘OK then I’ll make my own!’  We call it simply 'Llewellyn's', although initially we called it 'Dave & Barry's', just for fun!!!

So I've settled on 5 flavours for the moment: Apple, Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry and Cherry, and I don’t intend to get much more elaborate than that for the moment. Sometimes less is more, and, remember, one of the elements of our philosophy is 'simplicity'.  The flavours are simple and really authentic, with a high cream content, making them really creamy and luxurious.  The fruit ice creams have a very high fruit content, which makes them really natural and enjoyable.
